Fusalp ski gloves and mittens are made from softshell fabric, which is a stretchy, water-repellent membrane fabric - water repellency is the property of a fabric to be waterproof up to a certain point, thanks to a dedicated treatment applied to it. The advantage of water repellency is that not a single drop of water can penetrate or be absorbed by the fabric - and laminated with fleece that has been brushed on the inside for high-level thermal performance, to provide warmth, comfort and breathability.
This softshell material is used to make technical, comfortable ski gloves and mittens that are windproof, breathable, warm and waterproof. As the name suggests, this first level of thermal insulation prevents the cold wind, which can be icy in the mountains, from penetrating your gloves or mittens. This barrier against the elements is reinforced by the presence of thermal insulation, the aim of which is to conserve the heat naturally produced by your hands. This role is played by Primaloft® insulation - a lightweight, breathable, water-repellent wadding of the highest quality. Primaloft® wadding, made from synthetic fibres, is the benchmark for thermal insulation.
